Funeral services were held at 10 AM today for S. J. Pearce, 55 ofFrierson, a dairyman and welder for the Stanley Wood Preserves, who diedSaturday afternoon in P&S Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Pearce had been a resident of Frierson for the past 17 years and wasa member of the Keithville Masonic Lodge Landmark No. 214. He was anative of Clyde. He is survived by his wife; two sons. James Leslie Pearce, Garland.Texas, and John Francis Pearce, Frierson; his mother Mrs. S. J. Pearce,Sr. . Shreveport; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Sebren, Zwolle and Mrs.Richard Ramsey, Shreveport. Officiating at the service was the Rev.Elton C. Mitchell with the Rev. Phillip Kircus, pastor of the FriersonBaptist Church assisting. Burial was in the Centuries Memorial Park withMasonic rites at grave side. Pallbearers were Curtis Thomas, R.N. Ramsey,Murray McWhinney, J.L. Bradford. Sam Sebren and F.H. Tuckerfieid.
